Police Declare Farmer Wanted For Kidnapping in Edo


BENIN CITY-The Edo State Police Command has declared wanted one Sunday Peter a farmer over alleged involvement in kidnapping in the State.
Sunday Peter, 31 was said to have narrowly escaped arrest when some of his gang members were apprehended during a raid on their hideout, few days ago.
The Police Spokesman in Edo DSP Joseph Edogiawerie disclosed this in a statement made available to The NIGERIAN OBSERVER newspaper in Benin City, yesterday.
Police said in the statement that Sunday Peter was mentioned in a statement by one of the suspects in police custody as the receiver of their loots.
The gang was said to have engaged operatives in a gun duel during a rescue operation in a forest last Monday, December 15, 2014.
“One of the suspects, Kingsley, in our custody with fatal bullets wounds gave a confessional statement that his cousin Sunday Peter keeps their loots.
“When our operatives raided their family residence he escaped but others were unlucky”. The release read in parts.
It stated that the fleeing suspect who speaks Hausa, Arabic and English languages fluently is about five (5) feet tall and dark complexion.
The police enjoined anybody with information that would lead to his immediate arrest to contact the nearest police station or the state police command headquarters in Benin City for a handsome reward....
